“. . . .a wonderful place for parents and their children.” —Dr. T. Berry Brazelton

In these economic times, we must carefully watch every purchase. Our ‘bestselling’ popular fiction titles create the most challenge as some releases are more popular than others. We want to be careful in our spending but just do not have the time to monitor our standing order profile with each release. How can you help?

Thanks,
Watching in Wisconsin

Dear Watching,

Our standing order programs feature wonderful solutions, and one such option functions as an alert service.  Customers can enroll or modify an existing program profile to a report only status.  As new releases are announced, our programs automatically generate a selection list based on your profile.  The list is sent to you, but items are not automatically ordered.  You download the selection list into your local catalog so patrons may start placing holds.  Since popular fiction titles are announced three to six months in advance, you have an opportunity to monitor the holds and then closer to the release date, place your ipage order with the quantities you really need to meet the demand in your library.

When you have more funding, you may update your program profile to automatic ship and return to ordering predetermined quantities.

Best wishes,

Sincerely,
