The fourth quarter looks promising with the slate of titles announced thus far and several announcements on the horizon.  The most outstanding title of the titles I will mention in this edition has to be Up, the Pixar/Disney adventure of 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen and an overly optimistic 9-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell.  Hailed by critics and taking in $288 million at the domestic box office, this title is an instant treasure for the entire family. Eddie Murphy discovers his daughter's magical imagination is the secret to his success, and the key that unlocks the door to parenthood in Imagine That. In The Proposal, Sandra Bullock, as the controlling executive, forces her brow-beaten assistant Andrew into a sham engagement to prevent deportation and finds herself in over her head as they prepare to meet Andrew's family. Seth Rogan deftly portrays a mall cop bent on greatness in the biting comedy, Observe and Report that stabs moral superiority right in the heart. Two blockbusters, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Star Trek are Hollywood at its best. Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine in his early days and the young crew of the Starship Enterprise take their maiden voyage. Burt and Verona are a pregnant, thirty-something couple who embark on a journey to find the right environment to raise their child in Away We Go. Emily Hubley directs The Toe Tactic, a lighthearted and perceptive exploration of memory, regret, and the nature of reality itself as Mona Peek takes an impulsive visit to her abandoned suburban childhood home. Essential viewing, Food, Inc. is the food industry's equivalent of An Inconvenient Truth, a disturbing look into the food we put into our mouth everyday. Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns' latest film, National Parks: America's Best Idea, filmed over six years, is a spectacularly filmed document of our national parks and people who made them possible.
