Rookie Readers Revamp for Young Readers
Gone are the characteristic leveled A, B, and C readers. Instead, these labels are replaced with Rookie Reader skill sets within fun, lively, and colorfully illustrated stories. These skill sets are designed to more fully meet the needs of young, emergent readers by targeting specific reading skills that help in the word-decoding process, aid language development, and build fluency, thus encouraging happy, enthusiastic, independent readers. Each backlist title has also been placed into an appropriate, skill-specific category. Designated skill sets include: compound words, consonant clusters, multi-syllabic words, opposites, prepositional phrases, repetitive texts, rhyme, verb endings, vowel sounds, counting, numbers, and shapes. New titles will appear in each of these sets each season. Trade paper titles will release the following season of their corresponding library editions. All new titles will be available through the Easy Reading Standing Order Program. To sign up, just email standing.orders@ingrambook.com.
