Program News--Youth Programs Popular Series: Youth Popular Series: Youth - Additions Three sleek new series come on the scene this spring and early summer: Publisher Kensington, via its imprint Dafina, has launched the Del Rio Bay Clique Novels. The first title, So Not the Drama, deals with issues regarding race, class, and popularity. Boy Shopping, the first title of the series with the same name, is unique in that teen readers can “choose their own guy adventure” for the character Kiki. The third series, Perry Skky Jr., will appeal to African-American teens. The first title, Prime Choice, will publish in July. This series, written by Stephanie Perry Moore who also authored the popular Patton Skky series for girls, will have a Christian theme. Popular NASCAR thrills fill the pages of Tyndale Kids' new RPM series by Chris Fabry, author of the Left Behind: The Kids series. Both boy and girls ages 10-14 will find this series a real page-turner as engines rev and Jamie Maxwell begins her dream of becoming the first female winner of the cup. Blind Spot sets the wheels in motion. Popular Series: Youth - Completions or Cancellations Adventures of Bailey School Kids from Scholastic Flirt from Grosset and Dunlap Graphic Novels: Youth Program Graphic Novels: Youth - Additions Christian publisher Zondervan embraces graphic novels with its new imprint Z Graphic Novels with six new series for three age groups beginning in August. Kingdoms: A Biblical Epic series, written in a culturally relevant style for ages 12-16, begins with The Coming Storm. Hand of the Morningstar series, written for this same age group, launches with Advent and features “super-powered beings” battling good and evil. Younger YA readers 10 and up will be provided biblically-based fiction stories as part of The Son of Samson series. Its first title is Judge of God. TIMEFLYZ, a lighter science fiction and fantasy series also for 10 and up readers, begins with Pyramid Peril. Two series for readers ages 8-12 are The Manga Bible and TOMO. The Manga Bible presents stories told through the Korean manwha style with the first volume entitled Names, Games and The Long Road Trip. TOMO--a fantasy featuring a 13-year-old immigrant girl trying to fit into life in an American school--begins with its first title I Was an Eighth-Grade Ninja.
