She Got Up Off the Couch
Written and read by Haven Kimmel
Highbridge Audio

Zippy is back! The eagerly awaited sequel to Haven Kimmel's memoir, A Girl Named Zippy, is finally available on audio. She Got Up Off the Couch is the author's recollection of her pre-teen years in Mooreland, Indiana. But as much as this new release is a continuation of her childhood adventures, it is also an homage to her mother Delonda, and how she finally got up off the family couch, learned to drive, went to college, started her career, and created a life for herself outside of her role as wife and mother.

Thankfully, Kimmel also reads this second memoir. Her voice fluctuates, capturing the mischievous spirit and wide-eyed wonder of her younger self, while conjuring the calm and wise spirit of her mother, along with the restless spirit of her father. Listeners of A Girl Named Zippy will not be disappointed in this second look at life in Mooreland, Indiana. Many of the same eccentric small town characters are back, along with a slew of new ones. And while the years chronicled in this new memoir are filled with a bittersweet nostalgia, She Got Up Off the Couch is still a tender look back at life in a small town. Kimmel's voice brings the listener right to the city limits of Mooreland and back to a time where life was, in some ways, much simpler.--Linda Arrington Lusk, Product Marketing Manager
