Early Reader Series Program Early Reader Series - News March brings the first release of Level 1 titles for Pony Tales and Cave Dave. These stories feature easy-to-sound-out words, simple sentences, strong picture clues, and beginning sight words. New Level 2 titles, Clara the Klutz and The Fearless Four, feature varied consonant combinations, longer sentences, and intermediate sight words. The Level 3 titles feature multi-syllabic words, complex vowel sounds, challenging story lines, and advanced sight words. Future publishing plans include two-to-three titles per level each year. Early Reader Series - Additions Hyperion will launch its irresistible Elephant & Piggie early reader series by acclaimed author/illustrator Mo Willems this April. Titles include My Friend Is Sad and Today I Will Fly. Willems' award-winning style with comic dialog bubbles; crisp, clean illustrations; simple, minimal text with controlled vocabulary and repetitive text; and very lovable characters will win the hearts of the earliest readers making them eager for his next title. Hyperion plans two to three titles per year in trade hardcover. The series is now available through Ingram's Easy Reader Standing Order Program. Innovative Kids, publisher of Phonics Comics, has created new easy readers in three reading levels that bring phonics and comics together in a new format perfect for early and developing readers: Cave Dave Level 1, Clara the Klutz Level 2, and Twisted Tales Level 3. This series will have crossover appeal among early readers and young graphic novel enthusiasts, and is now part of Ingram's Easy Reader Standing Order Program. Graphic Novels: Youth Program Graphic Novels: Youth - Additions Responding to the need for libraries to have additional titles written especially for struggling and reluctant readers, Stone Arch Books is now publishing quality paperback editions of its graphic novel series. All four series are now available through Ingram's Graphic Novel: Youth Program. Graphic Sparks titles, written for 8-10 year-olds with reading levels of grades 1-3, are harmless, goofy exploits full of school, homework, siblings, and sometimes off-beat humor. Graphic Trax titles, for 8-12 year-olds with reading levels of grades 2-3, have slightly more sophisticated humor, science fiction thrills, and sports action. Graphic Quest titles, created for 8-12 year-olds with reading level of grade 3, are realistic, with riveting action adventures, sports thrillers, and age appropriate scary fiction. Graphic Revolve titles are full-color, graphic classic revisions written for 10-14 year-old struggling readers or anyone else wanting first exposure to history's most timeless stories. Youth Author Program The following titles are out of the scope of the Youth Author Standing Order Program and will not be included: Prom Nights from Hell and Everything I Needed to Know about Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume are collections of stories by multiple authors, not just Meg Cabot. They will not be on the program. (May, June) Laura Joffe Numeroff's Mouse Cookie First Library is a boardbook bindup of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Take a Mouse to School. It will not be on the program. (May) Youth Author - Duplication Alert Each month, there may be overlapping titles on the Youth Author, Easy Reader, and the Popular Youth Series Standing Order Programs.
