Because you indicated that the most popular part of the newsletter were those sections that directly applied to your readers' advisory services, we've created an entire section devoted to just that. The popular Genre Chicks feature has moved to the Reader's Advisor newsletter along with selection lists and ever-useful read-alikes.

I keep hearing about the ISBN's changing from ten to 13 digits, and now I'm seeing books with both ten and 13-digit ISBNs. Where can I go to learn more? How will this affect me and my library? Help!
--Anxious in Alabama
Dear Anxious,
Never fear! Ingram has created a 13-digit Resource Center just for libraries that provides an excellent overview of the ramifications of this transition including the time frames and how this affects both MARC records and CIP data. Keep checking back as more information is added, and be sure to contact your automation system vendor regarding their transition plans as well.

Your friend,

Send a question or tip to dearlibby@ingrambook.com. Those that appear in the newsletter will receive a thank-you gift!
